Passive Schools unique approach results in the beautiful “offsite manufactured” education buildings that are highly conducive to learning with the lowest possible energy use.
We are an addition to the Whites Group of companies and operate from the group head quarters on a 36 acre site in Cambridgeshire. The Whites Group was formed in 2004 and is now at the forefront of the offsite sector with a number of divisions that support the delivery of ultra low energy and Passivhaus buildings.
Why are we called Passive Schools?
Passive Schools refers to the principles of Passivhaus which is at the core of our buildings and the fact that we only deliver educational buildings. Passivhaus offers robust, cost-effective buildings with high quality indoor environments and low running costs.

Passive Schools build sustainably to limit the impact on the planet and we also do our bit to address the skills shortages which are tightening around the UK construction sector. The way that we build is very different to the traditional construction processes with improved working conditions and limited time onsite to achieve a watertight envelope. Passive Schools are helping to develop the site teams and project managers of tomorrow by employing apprentices and integrating younger workers into our project delivery teams whenever possible.
